Wheel spinner

The general-purpose version of the wheel: not just names, but any set of options you cannot decide between — where to eat, yes or no, whose turn it is, which prize tier. Type up to 500 options, spin, and let a genuinely fair random draw settle the argument, with the deciding randomness generated before the wheel ever starts moving.

How to use this tool

  1. Type your options, one per line

Restaurants, yes/no, chores, prize tiers — anything you need a wheel to decide between.

  2. Tap to spin

True randomness decides the winner instantly; the spin is the reveal, not the decision.

  3. Save the wheel for reuse

Weekly "who cooks dinner" or "which chore" wheels are worth saving once and reusing.

Questions people ask

What can I actually use a wheel spinner for besides names?

Anything with a small, fixed set of options and no clearly better answer — deciding what to cook, a yes-or-no coin-flip alternative with more drama, assigning chores or turns, or picking a discount tier for a promotion. Type the options, spin, done.

Is a spinning wheel actually more random than just flipping a coin?

For two options, no — both draw from the same underlying cryptographically random source here. The wheel's real advantage is handling more than two options fairly, and being far more satisfying to watch decide something than a coin flip.

Can I have unequal odds — make one option more likely?

Not directly, but you can approximate it by listing an option more than once (three copies of "Pizza" alongside one each of the alternatives gives it roughly triple the odds) — each line is one equally-weighted slice of the wheel.

Do my saved wheels sync between my phone and computer?

No — saved wheels live in this specific browser's local storage on this specific device, so a wheel saved on your phone will not appear when you open the site on a laptop. Re-create it there, or just paste the same list again.

Does spinning use any of my data or require an app install?

No — it is a web page, works in any modern browser, needs no install, and after the first load works with no internet connection at all.
