WhatsApp Chat Analyzer
A chat export is about as personal as a file gets — so this WhatsApp chat analyzer (and chat statistics tool) parses it entirely on your device, with no upload and no account. Drop the exported .txt (or the .zip an iPhone produces) and get messages per person, words per message, busiest hour and weekday, longest streak, top emoji, most-used words, who starts conversations and average reply time. Android and iPhone exports, 12- and 24-hour times, and both date orders are detected automatically.

Preparing WhatsApp Chat Analyzer for you…
Loading the tool into your browser. Nothing is uploaded — the work happens on your device.
Your chat never leaves this device. The export file is parsed by JavaScript running in your browser — there is no upload, no server and no account. You can even switch off your internet before dropping the file.

Android: open the chat → tap ⋮ → More → Export chat → Without media. Share the .txt to yourself (e.g. via Files or email), then drop it here.
iPhone: open the chat → tap the contact/group name → Export Chat → Without Media. You get a .zip — drop it here directly, the tool opens it locally.
Parsed a {{ format.os === 'iphone' ? 'iPhone' : 'Android' }} export ({{ format.dateOrder }} dates) — {{ stats.totalMessages.toLocaleString('en-IN') }} messages over {{ stats.totalDays.toLocaleString('en-IN') }} days.

Questions people ask
Is it safe to analyze my WhatsApp chat online?
Here, yes — the file is parsed by JavaScript running on your device. There is no upload endpoint, and you can switch your internet off after the page loads and everything still works. We never see a single message.
How do I export a WhatsApp chat as a .txt file?
Open the chat, then on Android tap ⋮ → More → Export chat → Without media; on iPhone tap the contact or group name → Export Chat → Without Media. Choose "without media" — the analyzer counts media from the placeholders anyway, and the file stays small.
Which export formats are supported?
Both the Android format (12/01/2025, 10:03 pm - Name: message) and the iPhone bracket format ([12/01/25, 10:03:12 PM] Name: message), including 24-hour times, dotted dates and the invisible direction marks iPhones sprinkle in. The tool reports which format it detected.
How is "who starts the conversation" counted?
A message counts as a conversation starter when it follows more than six hours of silence. Tallying those per person settles the who-texts-first argument with actual data.
Does it work with group chats?
Yes — every stat that makes sense per person (message counts, words per message, starters, reply time) is broken down for each participant, for groups of any size.
What if my file fails to parse?
You get a plain-language message showing the first lines of your file so you can see what went wrong — usually it is a screenshot, a media zip, or a copy-paste instead of a real export. The export steps are shown right below the error.
