RRB NTPC Typing Test Mock
The RRB NTPC typing skill test asks for 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi, typed for 10 minutes with no editing tools — and it is qualifying, so clearing the bar is everything. This free mock uses the same 10-minute duration, formal passages and net-WPM scoring, shows pass/fail against the 30 WPM English benchmark after each run, and keeps your progress history on your device.

Your result
{{ exam.name }} benchmark: {{ exam.wpm }} WPM. You cleared it with {{ result.netWpm }} net WPM — keep this consistency in the real exam. You are at {{ result.netWpm }} net WPM — {{ exam.wpm - result.netWpm }} more to go. {{ exam.note }}
Net WPM = gross WPM minus uncorrected errors per minute — exams score net, so an error you fixed with backspace costs time, but an error you left costs a full word.

How to use this tool
-
Default to the 10-minute mode
The real skill test is 10 continuous minutes — this page starts there, because a 1-minute sprint pace says little about minute nine.
-
Type steadily, correct sparingly
RRB's CBT typing interface offers no spell-check or shortcuts; train yourself to fix only what you notice immediately and keep moving.
-
Clear 30 WPM net, repeatedly
One lucky pass is noise; the history panel shows whether you clear the benchmark run after run — that is exam readiness.
Questions people ask
What is the RRB NTPC typing test requirement?
30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi, sustained for 10 minutes on a computer without editing tools. It applies to posts like senior clerk-cum-typist, junior accounts assistant and senior time keeper, and it is qualifying — marks are not added to merit.
Is the RRB typing test easier than SSC's?
The WPM bar is lower (30 vs 35 English), but the 10-minute duration with no editing aids punishes inconsistency. Candidates comfortable at 40 WPM for one minute regularly fail at minute eight — duration practice is the whole game.
Hindi or English — which should I choose for the skill test?
Whichever you genuinely type faster with a margin. English needs 30 WPM, Hindi 25 (on Krutidev or Mangal setups per the RRB's options). Test yourself honestly in both here and on the Hindi page before deciding.
Does this mock match the real test's scoring?
It scores net WPM — typed volume minus uncorrected errors per minute — which is the standard the skill test effectively applies. Your pass/fail line against 30 WPM appears with every result.
How many weeks does it take to reach 30 WPM?
From a 20 WPM start, most people reach a stable 30+ in four to eight weeks of daily 15–20 minute practice. The streak counter and history graph here exist precisely to keep that routine visible.
