Compress Video to 10MB
Compress any video to under 10MB in your browser — 10MB is Discord's current free upload limit, so a clip that clears it sends on any account without Nitro. There is no upload and no queue: the encode starts instantly on your own device, and two-pass targeting makes sure the file lands just under the line instead of bouncing off it.

This is a large file (over 500 MB). It will still work — everything streams from disk — but expect the encode to take a while, especially on a phone. Keep this tab in the foreground until it finishes.
The result is aimed a few percent under this number so it clears the platform limit.

How to use this tool
-
Drop your video
MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV — the 10MB target is preselected because that's Discord's current free limit.
-
Review the estimate
Before running you see the bitrate and quality grade your clip's length allows. Toggle off audio or cap the resolution in the advanced controls if you want to spend the budget differently.
-
Compress and send
Download the MP4 — it lands just under 10MB, so it attaches on Discord, and on most chat apps and web forms with a 10MB cap.
Questions people ask
Why 10MB? Who uses that limit?
Discord's free tier currently caps uploads at 10MB — it's the most common reason people need this exact size. Plenty of ticketing systems, CMS uploaders and form builders use a 10MB cap too.
How do I send a large video on Discord without Nitro?
Compress it here to under 10MB and attach it normally. For anything that won't survive 10MB (long gameplay clips, for instance), trim out the highlight first, or upload elsewhere and share the link.
Will the file come out at exactly 10MB?
It aims a few percent under — around 9.4–9.9MB for most clips. Landing exactly on the limit risks being rejected, because platforms measure size slightly differently; just-under is the size that always sends.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs in your browser using your device's own hardware video encoder (WebCodecs). This site has no upload endpoint for the tool at all — the video never leaves your device, and there is no upload wait before compression even starts.
Does compressing a video reduce quality?
Yes — a smaller file means less data. The tool keeps quality as high as the target allows by downscaling resolution intelligently instead of just starving the bitrate, and it shows you an honest quality estimate before you run.
What video formats can I compress?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV in; MP4 (H.264 + AAC) out — the most compatible format for every platform and player.
Which browsers does this work in?
Chrome and Edge (desktop and Android) have full hardware encoding support. Firefox and older Safari versions may lack the WebCodecs encoder — the tool detects this and tells you plainly instead of spinning forever.
