Sign a PDF online — draw, type or upload your signature

Sign a PDF without printing or scanning: draw your signature with a finger or mouse, type it in a handwriting style, or photograph the one on paper and let the tool lift it off the white background. Drag it onto the right spot, resize, and download the signed document. Everything — rendering, signing, flattening — happens in your browser, so the rental agreement or offer letter is never uploaded to anyone. To be clear about what this is: it places a signature image, not a cryptographic DSC or Aadhaar eSign.

Your signature

This places a visible signature image on the page — it is not a cryptographic digital signature (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign. For everyday agreements it works exactly like a signed-and-scanned page, and your document never leaves this browser.

How to use this tool

  1. Add the PDF and open the right page

Drop the document in and page through to the signature line — pages render on your device.

  2. Create your signature

Draw it on the pad (smoothest with a finger on a phone), type your name in a script style, or upload a photo of your paper signature — the white background is removed automatically.

  3. Place it and download

Drag the signature onto the line, resize with the corner handle, add a date if needed, then download — the signature is flattened into the page itself.

Questions people ask

How can I sign a PDF online for free?

Drop the PDF here, create a signature by drawing, typing or uploading a photo, drag it into position and download. No account, no watermark, no trial limit.

Is an image signature legally valid?

For everyday agreements — rent agreements, consent forms, offer acceptances — a signature image is widely accepted, just as a signed-and-scanned page is. It is not a cryptographic digital signature (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign; where the law or a government process demands those, use a licensed provider.

Is my contract uploaded when I sign it here?

No — and that is the reason to sign here rather than on an upload-based site. The document is rendered, signed and rebuilt entirely in your browser; a contract full of personal and financial details never crosses the network.

How does the photo option remove the paper background?

Sign on white paper, photograph it in even light, and upload. Bright pixels are made transparent so only the ink remains; a threshold slider lets you tune the cutoff if the lighting was uneven or the ink was light.

Can I sign on my phone?

Yes — drawing with a finger works well, and is usually closer to your paper signature than a mouse ever gets. Rotating the phone to landscape gives your hand more room.

Can the signature be extracted from the signed PDF?

The signature is flattened into the page content rather than floating as a separate annotation, so it cannot be selected and deleted in a viewer the way an annotation can. Like any visible signature — paper included — someone could still crop it out of an image of the page, so share signed documents thoughtfully.

Can I reuse my signature next time?

Yes, optionally — tick "Remember on this device" and the signature is kept in your browser's local storage only. It never leaves your device, and clearing browser data removes it.
