What is 76% in CGPA?

8.0 CGPA on CBSE's ×9.5 scale, about 8.35 on the AKTU/VTU (CGPA−0.75)×10 scale, and about 9.15 on Mumbai University's 7.1×CGPA+11 scale — the formula matters, so pick the one your institution actually used.

Why would I need to convert percentage back to CGPA?

Some admission or job portals specifically ask for a CGPA figure even when your official marksheet only lists a percentage (common for older boards or diploma results) — this reverse conversion gives you a defensible estimate to enter.

Is the reverse conversion exact?

It's the mathematical inverse of the forward formula, so round-tripping a CGPA to percentage and back returns the original CGPA to within rounding — but it is only as official as the underlying formula itself; for a legal document, get the CGPA from your institution's transcript directly if possible.

Which formula should I pick if my institution is not listed?
